Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash in Keynsham that left a driver and passenger trapped inside their car this morning (Sunday, February 8).

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash in Keynsham that left a driver and passenger trapped inside their car this morning (Sunday, February 8).

The incident, in which the car was the only vehicle involved, happened at about 6am on St Ladoc Road, near its junction with Bristol Road.

A car that appeared to have collided with a roadside wall was reported to be on the pavement and the two occupants – a male driver and female passenger – were trapped.

They were released from the vehicle and taken to Southmead Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesperson said: "The road remains closed to allow collision investigators to make a detailed examination of the scene.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may information to help our enquiries.

"If you are able to help contact the collision investigation unit on the force number 101."
