Members of Keynsham WI at the Bishop's Palace in Wells
There has been much activity taking place at the Keynsham WI. In July we held a very well-attended Indian cookery demonstration by Bini from Sweet Cumin.
Bini was a brilliant speaker with lots of stories to tell, and her food was delicious and well received by everyone.
Our craft group commenced a project to make button-together bunting for use at various social events.
The August meeting was great fun. Ladies from Stockwood WI brought along their indoor curling equipment and nearly 50 members had a go - some were better than others! It was a really good way for members to mingle and get to know each other.
Nicola Harvey came along to the craft group in August to run a workshop on wet felting - a new craft to us all. It was quite a wet and soapy affair but again was very much fun.
We also ran a trip to Wells to tour the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens. Although it is quite close to home, many of us had never been there before. The guide was very informative and after the tour we enjoyed tea and cake in the palace cafe.
In September we are looking forward to a talk from Emma Britton, the BBC Radio Bristol presenter, who is going to tell us about her unusual journey into broadcasting.
