Members of Keyford Dance School joined thousands of people across the country tapping away for Children in Need.

The group were taking part in an annual fundraising Tapathon that sees dancers across Britain learning a routine and then performing it at the same time, aiming to beat their record for the number of people participating each time.

On November 15, almost 40 students donned their tap shoes, Pudsey ears and matching T-shirts and gathered at Keynsham’s Riverside Suite to await the signal to start the routine to the song Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars at 1pm.

The dancers’ families watched the performance and added to the total the group raised – almost £400 – with a cake sale during the event.

With 7,363 dancers taking part across the country, the fundraisers were just a little short of the world record for a mass tap dance, which stands at 7,596. But there’s always next year...
