KEYNSHAM’s recent run of good form has maintained their mid-table league position.  Seven points from three matches were a good haul after two narrow defeats.
Hallen were the visitors at the end of January and the Ks went down 2-1, despite Jamie Noble equalising an early goal for the visitors.  The Ks kept the score level until late in the game when Hallen snatched a winner.  The last match of the month brought Shepton Mallet to the AJN Stadium and they went away with a 2-0 victory.
A trip across Bristol to Cribbs followed on the first day of February, and a Troy Walters goal was the difference between the two sides, bringing Keynsham a much-needed three points.
Another away game followed at local rivals Cadbury Heath where a match spoiled by high winds brought more rewards.  A Mike Grist penalty gave Keynsham a half-time lead that they deserved, and a goal from Matt Brown and another from Mike Grist, this time from a corner, confirmed their superiority.
Bitton were the next visitors to the AJN Stadium for another local derby, which also took place in high winds and rain.  Both teams did well in the conditions to play attacking, entertaining football but despite this it looked as if it might ended goalless. However, there was an exciting finish to come when Matt Groves gave Bitton the lead five minutes from time and Mike Grist equalised with a powerful header from a corner in stoppage time.
Street are the first visitors to the AJN Stadium, having returned to the league following one season in the Southern League.  Bottom club Odd Down finish Keynsham’s home schedule for March and they will be desperate for three points to avoid relegation.
In between, the Ks visit Roman Glass St George on their 3G pitch at Almondsbury and finish the month with a trip to Devon to play Buckland Athletic.
