Urgent drain cleaning work will be carried out on Stockwood Hill, closing a stretch of the route for a week, Bath and North and Somerset Council has announced.

Drivers are being warned of the work, which will be carried out between the entrance to Secret World Garden Centre and the junction of Stockwood Vale and Old Bristol Road and will result in the closure of this part of Stockwood Hill.

This work will take place between 9.30am and 4pm from Monday, April 13, to Friday, April 17.

The council has written to all local residents and businesses likely to be affected and access to the garden centre will not be affected. Emergency access will be available at all times.

A council spokesperson said: "The council appreciates that this work will cause a degree of disruption and would like to thank local residents and businesses for their patience.

"Contractors Skanska are working closely with the council to maintain access to properties and keep disruption to a minimum."
