Registration is now open for a popular festive fun run that is returning to Saltford for the fifth year to support a good cause.

Saltford Santa Dash will be held on Sunday, December 3, and entry forms for the five-mile fun run and the mini Santa Dash for younger runners are now available online.

The event attracts around 500 runners, who take to the streets between Saltford and Keynsham dressed in Santa costumes, while around 400 mini Santas take part in the shorter run at Saltford Sports Ground.

Richard Evans, chair of the event’s organising group, said: “In addition to the fun associated with the Santa Dash I am pleased that we have been able raise funds for local charities.

“Last year we raised over £10,000 for the Butterflies-Haven charity, which supports youngsters and families living with autism.

“This year we have chosen another local and extremely worthy charity, Jessie May. This charity provides specialist nursing care for terminally ill children in their own homes. So I do hope that people will come out and support us just as they have for the last four years.”
