Choirjam to sing for peace on VE Day anniversary
Choirjam and their band will be raising the roof in aid of forces charities on the anniversary of VE Day
A KEYNSHAM community choir is to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day – when peace was declared in Europe at the end of the Second World War.
Choirjam and their live band will join the Bristol Military Wives Choir and the RAF Spitfires Choir at the Sing for Peace event.
The concert is due to place at St John’s Church in Keynsham on Friday May 8, and all profits will go to forces charities Combat Stress and the SSAFA.
Doors and the bar open at 7pm, after which the St John’s Bell Ringers will join church ringers up and down the country in a celebratory peal.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and will end with the Last Post. Tickets are selling fast and cost £12 in advance (£8 for under-16s) or £14 on the door, subject to availability. You can buy yours now at www.choirjam. co.uk. Tickets are also available from St John’s Parish Office.
