Care home wins praise from inspectors
A SALTFORD care home is celebrating after being praised by inspectors for providing a responsive, safe, effective, caring and well-led service.
Kingfisher Lodge Care Centre on Chestnut Walk passed a recent Care Quality Commission inspection with a “Good” rating in all areas after an inspection in July.
The report rated the home, run by Barchester Healthcare, as “Good” overall.
It stated: “People were supported by caring and passionate staff in a spacious environment with a large accessible garden area. The service was clean, tidy and furnished thoughtfully to a high standard.”
The report went on to say: “Care and support was person-centred and enabled people’s wishes and preferences to be met. People were encouraged and supported to remain independent. There was a wide variety of activities to engage people in. Links had been developed to ensure the service is an active part of the local community.”
Also highlighted in the report was the safe administration of medicines. People were supported with their health conditions, and inspectors received consistent positive feedback from health and social care professionals about the quality of care provided, it said.
To thank the team for their contributions, each team member was presented with £100 gift voucher.
Clare Sinclair, general manager, said: "The team at Kingfisher Lodge always strive to provide the best possible quality care for everyone.”
