Action from Keynsham’s home match against Exmouth Town, which they won 1-0

ON the back of a well-earned draw against league leaders Plymouth Parkway, Keynsham faced visitors Tavistock with increasing optimism.
However, their optimism was not well placed as Ks went down to their biggest defeat since returning to the Premier Division of the Toolstation League.
A seemingly very young Devon side were well-deserved winners by 5-2 as they out-paced their opponents with good passing and converted their chances well.
It was a salutary lesson but one which was quickly learned as they travelled to Clevedon in the Somerset Premier Cup.
A battling performance saw Keynsham come from behind twice with goals from Craig Wilson and Adey Harvey and then take a 3-2 lead six minutes from time, thanks to Sam Downes’ overhead kick, only to concede a late equaliser.  The game went to penalties, which Keynsham won 5-4 to set up a home tie against Bridgwater Town in the next round.
Another battling display was watched by a home crowd of 163 at the AJN Stadium against Exmouth Town, who had won six of their seven league matches since returning to the Western League.
The visitors started the brighter, having three shots cleared off the line and another hitting the post in the first half.  However, it was Keynsham who took a first-half lead when a long ball from Craig Wilson beat the entire Exmouth defence and found an advancing Ben Harris, who beat the custodian Chris Wright to the ball and slotted it home. Despite intense pressure from Exmouth, the Ks held out for a well-earned victory.
Another victory, 2-0 over Chipping Sodbury three days later, took Keynsham up to 13th in the table with several games in hand over the clubs around them. Fixtures for the coming month are as follows:
