Three charities to get slice of proceeds from Keynsham cake sale

A tea and cake afternoon organised by a group of mums at St Dunstan’s Church Hall had all the right ingredients for a successful event.
With a raffle featuring prizes including an air balloon flight, beauty treatments, meals out and more, as well as a bric-a-brac stall and tombola, the afternoon raised £1,300. The women have all experienced how cancer can affect people of all ages and have chosen to split the funds between women’s cancer charity The Eve Appeal, Children’s Hospice South West and St Peter’s Hospice.
This is the third community event the group has organised, following last year’s soup kitchen, and the group say they hope it will become an annual fixture.
Thanks from the group go to everyone who supported the event, including the local businesses that gave generously: Chief Trading Post, Serendipity, Polkadot, Taste Buds, Buttercream Dream, Bristol Rovers, Parsons, Tesco, Bath Bakery, Roses Dental Practice, Better, Bragg, Bonzo Lounge, The Ship Inn, Keynsham Fish Bar, Seafoods Plus, Pomegranate, Cinnamon, KITco, Moss, Mackdaddys, Outpost, Heavenly Hedgerows, the Mail Booth Brislington, Park Furnishers, Strawberry Splash, Wild About Flowers, Sugar’d Fairies and Trigaci.
