A Keynsham-based company has pledged to support youngsters with life-limiting conditions with a year of fundraising, including a summer race day.

Dribuild, based in Rock Road, has announced that its charity of the year will be Together for Short Lives, which aims to help youngsters with short life expectancies to lead as fulfilling a life as possible and to get the best end-of-life care.

To launch the partnership, Dribuild’s business development manager Helene Cook attended the charity’s conference in Aston.

Earlier this year, the company presented £53,000 to Bristol hospital charity Above and Beyond after a year of fundraising and Matt Tyler, Dribuild MD, said he hopes this year will be just as successful.

He said: “Being passionate about our charitable commitment makes supporting Together for Short Lives a really worthwhile and moving venture. Dribuild’s passionate corporate social responsibility programme will deliver a range of exciting events directly linked to the growth of the business.

“Dribuild is growing year on year and as the company grows, so does the level of our commitment within our community. Knowing that the money we will be able to raise will be used to improve the lives of the children and their families who will be faced with such adversity is something we’re very proud of.”

The company will be raising funds over the next 12 months to help Together for Short Lives create closer ties within the children’s palliative care community to benefit children and their families.

Together for Short Lives spokesperson Nick Appleby said: “We are delighted to be Dribuild’s charity of the year and their support will help us to ensure more children and their families are able to access specialist children’s palliative care services, day and night, seven days a week – when and where they need it.”

Dribuild’s Charity Race Day will be at Bath Racecourse on Tuesday, July 18. For more information, or to book a table, contact Helene Cook at Dribuild on 0117 986 1020 or email helene.cook@dribuild.com
