Keynsham man charged with imitation firearm offences

A man has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm following an incident in Keynsham in which a suspect was injured in the leg by police marksmen.

Police were called to a domestic incident that reportedly involved a firearm in Minsmere Drive on Tuesday, May 7.

Simon Tandy, aged 47, and from Minsmere Drive was due to appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning (May 21) charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to resist arrest.

Police are continuing to speak with witnesses and are appealing to anyone who has not previously come forward in relation to the criminal aspect of this investigation to contact them on 101.

An IPCC investigation also continues.
