Groups ready to fill Keynsham church with forest of trees for Christmas
Published on: 06 Nov 2015
There is still chance for community groups to get into the festive spirit and join the third Keynsham Christmas Tree Festival.
St John’s Church, in the High Street, will be filled with 60 individually decorated trees from December 4 to 6, and organisers say there are still one or two left for groups to sponsor.
The trees are sponsored by schools, local charities, societies, sports clubs and more, with the decorations often reflecting the activities of each group.
The festival will open to the public on the evening of Friday, December 4, from 6-9pm, and then throughout the weekend, from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and noon to 5pm on Sunday.
During the festival there will be live music in the church, refreshments and the chance to take a guided tour of the historic building’s tower.
Admission is free but donations raised during the event will go to the church. The previous festival in 2013, which attracted more than 2,000 visitors, raised money for the dais, the raised area at the front of the church, which is now complete.
