First stages of masterplan for Keynsham's K4 site go on show

Keynsham residents are being invited to take a look at plans for the site known as K4 in the very earliest stages at an event this month.
Developers Bloor Homes and Persimmon Homes are currently preparing plans for around 200 homes on land to the south-west of the town bordered by Charlton Road, Parkhouse Lane and Abbotts Wood.
The firms are now working on a masterplan for the site before they submit any planning applications and residents will be able to view the scheme so far on Monday, March 9, at a “site masterplanning” exhibition.
Mark Crosby, of Consensus Communications, said that the exhibition will provide residents with an early insight into the planning process. He added: “A masterplan begins by exploring the technical and planning principles that will guide and inform how the site can be designed and laid-out. It does not deal with matters of detail – they come later in the design process.”
Once the masterplan is completed, it will be examined by Bath & North East Somerset Council and, following any revisions, will then act as a blueprint for future planning applications.
The land has been earmarked for housing development in the council’s core strategy.
The exhibition is being held on March 9, from 2.30-7.30pm, at the Community Space in Keynsham Civic Centre.
