Man threatens police with gun in Keynsham

Police were threated by a man with a gun in Keynsham after being called to a domestic incident in Minsmere Road.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to Frenchay Hospital with leg injuries following the incident at 6pm on May 7.

Chief Superintendent Geoff Spicer, District commander for Bath and North East Somerset area said: "We were called to a domestic incident last night (Tuesday May 7) involving a firearm in Minsmere Road in Keynsham shortly after 6pm.

"When we attended the address our officers were threatened by a man with a firearm.

"The man was injured and taken to hospital where he is in a stable condition. He has been arrested.

"We have referred the matter to the IPCC and will support them in their investigations."
